Lakeshore Arts and Music Association

The Howmet Playhouse is just one of many wonderful performing arts venues in the Muskegon County area. In the hopes of increasing partnerships and collaborations, we have teamed up with many others to create a more cohesive arts movement along the lakeshore, the Lakeshore Arts & Music Association (LAMA).The Lakeshore Arts and Music Association (LAMA) grew out of questions that had been hanging around the West Michigan arts community for years such as:
  • Why are the high school musicals always scheduled on the same two weekends?
  • Why didn’t I know about that event?
  • Why can’t organizations work together more?

If you have thoughts, questions, or would like to become an official member of the Lakeshore Arts and Music Association, please use the Contact Form on this website and add "LAMA Info" in the Question/Comment box.

The Next Meeting

Are you involved with, interested in, or passionate about arts and music here on West Michigan’s lakeshore? We are, and we hope that you’ll join us for the third meeting of the Lakeshore Arts & Music Association! If you work or play in a fine arts field, or if you’d be interested in helping to coordinate the many wonderful organizations that already exist, please join us on June 30th at 12:00 noon for an hour long discussion at Muskegon Community College’s Blue and Gold Room. Please bring your business cards and information on your scheduled 2010 events to share with the group. This meeting will focus on sharing marketing ideas and techniques and how arts groups can work together to create more awareness of arts events along the lakeshore. There is no fee to join, and this event is open to the public. Please e-mail lakeshore.arts.music@gmail.com with ideas, questions, or for more information. We hope that you will help us on our journey to create a more unified arts and music scene on the Western Michigan Lakeshore!
